what would happen if in 2026 people stopped being born, aging, or dying? acording to 17776 we would start playing some really weird games of football.

17776 was written by one jon bois and started getting uploaded in 2017 it focuses on a group of sentient satalites thousands of years in the future who watch a lot of football its sequel series 20020 came out in you guessed it 2020 and its premise is basically the same but this time they are watching collage football the second half of 20020 called 20021 was suposed to come out summer 2021 but was poseponed. 17776 literally gives brain worms in the best way posible the only valid form of football. its a great example of multimedia art and i cant articulate how much this goofy satalite football series means to me.

17776s main character is pioneer 9 the actual satalite. they become concious after several thousand years and we follow them as they learn with us what the world has become and learn what it means to live forever. Nine is our audience stand in, they allow for explanations of what the hell is going on in this wild world but besides that they are still a compelling character and watching them learn and interact with the gang is really heartwarming. Nine is pretty stoic as they just woke up but slowly shows more personality throughout they are confused as to why the humans are the way they are.
